Planning the first leg of the E11!
I am planning for just a weekend tour, so a total of 40-50 km, since I need to consider transport time to and from the E11.
I am looking for something relatively easy to get to from Hamburg. Both Coppenbrügge and Alfeld seems to have hourly service to/from Hamburg, and within 2 1/4 hour of travel time, which is reasonable.
There are several options for accomodation around the 670 km mark, both for the convenience looking hiker, as well as the hiker with tent. For a bit of comfort, the Waldhotel Humboldt [EXT] (667 +2.5) is a bit early on the route. There are apartments in the towns of Dielmissen (670 +2) and Eschershausen (675 +2.5), look at booking.com.
